In the past, the sullage was often cleared by the ship facilities when repairing the ship, resulting in the larger ship constant at usual time, the reduction of the normal loading/unloading and the increased energy consumption by ships for cargo turnover. By responding to the lean management thought and overcoming many difficulties including atrocious working environment, all staff of MV Yanshuihu finally cleared nearly 700 tons of sullage for 14 ballast water tanks as planned.
